The Bavarian Haus

This is a unique restaurant in downtown Mt. Dora for those looking for a change from American fare. We enjoyed very tasty potato pancakes for an appetizer. The sauerbraten and schnitzel were delicious. They were served along side the traditional German red cabbage and spaetzle. The service was personal and friendly in a very cozy atmosphere.

This place was really cute inside. The food was great and service was friendly. We got there early around 5pm on a Saturday to make sure we could get seated relatively quick. Due to limited seating for social distancing, we got there at a great time. We ordered the potato pan cakes, the Schweinbraten, Sauerbraten, and chicken schnitzel. All were very well cooked and delicious. Then we were torn with the 3 desserts they had so we ordered 1 of each: Black Forest cake-one of the best I've ever had, Apple Strudel and Cheese Strudel. Both just melted in your mouth, the dough was delicate and none were overly sweet. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

My family and I were so excited to go here, the service was awesome! the manager/hostess was very charismatic and amazing at informing us about the German cuisine. It was a nice touch to have the great chef personally brining us our food from time to time. Great ambiance to go with family or friends, and prices are very reasonable for the great quality of food you’re getting. Don’t forget to try the cheese strudel, we ended up getting both the apple and cheese they were fantastic! Will be going back

I am from Germany and this is by far the best German restaurant in the area. We came during the Mount Dora art festival so they had a limited menu which is understandable with the amount of people. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great place! Highly recommend. Everything tasted like a good home cooked meal. Hands down the best place in Mount Dora!

As someone raised on German food, it was fantastic. Had the jagerschnitzel, red cabbage and Knurdles. Sauce was incredibly rich and flavorful. Red Kraut had the proper amount of cloves and vinegar, if you know, you know. A little dark, but had it been a tad warmer I would have sat on their outside seating. Absolutely recommended and was surprised they weren’t busier.

I was just visiting the town in stopped in to have dinner on a busy Saturday night. I was waited on My two friendly servers. I ordered a butter pretzel for an appetizer and for dinner I ordered, Rouladen, Spatzle, potato salat and red kraut..... Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. I have no complaints or disappointments about this restaurant or its service. I will return on my next visit and will highly recommend this German restaurant.

I had a great experience. Welcoming place, excellent service, cold beer. The potato salad and the Veil delicious. The sausages great. I don’t remember the name but it has lamb. I totally recommend, different ambiance, great food and excellent service. I’ll be back and try more.
